On Friday, December 27, 2024, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Mandiri Financial Center Palembang was conducted by the President Director of PT. Bank Mandiri Tbk, Darmawan Junaidi, along with the board of directors and senior executives of Bank Mandiri. The event was also attended by the Commissioner and Top Level Management of Alien Design Consultant, along with their team, as the design consultants. This ceremony marks the beginning of constructing a building expected to become a new icon in Palembang.

As one of Alien Design Consultant's latest projects, the Mandiri Financial Center in Palembang, South Sumatra, represents the collaboration between modern architectural design and local values. Built for PT. Bank Mandiri Tbk, this building embraces sustainability and Palembang's cultural heritage.

Concept and Inspiration
1. Regional Identity
The design of this building draws inspiration from the traditional "Kain Tanjak Palembang," known for its geometric patterns. The triangular glass elements on the façade reflect the philosophy of elevation and unity, symbolizing the bond and kinship between Bank Mandiri and its customers.
2. Indoor and Outdoor Connectivity
The building prioritizes visual and atmospheric connections between indoor and outdoor spaces. Transparent partitions create an integrated experience with the surrounding environment, offering a more open and comfortable atmosphere.
3. Outdoor Facilities
The building is designed to provide "next-level" community spaces, such as community gardens, food and entertainment areas, creating dynamic social spaces for users.
Shaping: Design Philosophy
The shape of the Mandiri Financial Center is inspired by the triangular patterns of "Kain Tanjak Palembang," symbolizing elevation, unity, and ties. These design knots depict togetherness, which is envisioned as the fundamental philosophy of the relationship between customers and Bank Mandiri.
